Chain of Thought

The Pricefx Copilot displays the sequence of tasks (Chain of Thought) it performs to generate an answer, using clear, user‑friendly step labels in the chat. This makes the Copilot’s reasoning more transparent, helps users understand what is happening.

What Feature Does

• Maps internal tasks to visible steps.

• Displays steps in the Copilot chat.

• Use business‑friendly labels.
  Each step is shown with a non‑technical, human‑readable label aligned with the use case (e.g. “Analyzing the portlet data”, “Checking for valid Product names”, “Thinking”, “Prompting the LLM”, “Formatting the answer”, “Looking for margins”).

• Updates live during processing
  The chain of thought is updated live as the Copilot works, so users can see progress.

Limitations

• The chain of thought is not persisted in the database. It is available for the current session and remains visible in the chat even after the answer is finished and a new exchange starts, but there is no long‑term storage.

• Descriptions of steps are static.
