This page provides a high-level overview of steps towards configuring the Sales Compensation module and creating a Compensation Plan and Records.
Before you start creating Compensation Plans, you must have at least:
-
A list of sellers (and possibly seller extensions with additional information) for which you will manage sales compensations.
-
Transactional data from which you will calculate the compensations.
-
Create logics that will handle the compensation/commission processing and calculation:
-
Header logic – Calculations at Compensation Plan header level, user inputs including seller or seller group picker.
-
Pricing logic – Calculations at Compensation Plan line item level.
-
Workflow logics – Define the approval process of Compensation Plans and Compensation Records.
-
-
Create Compensation Types – A template that allows users to quickly create a new Compensation Plan. The header and workflow logics are part of this template. You can have several templates for different types of compensation processings.
-
Create Condition Types – A definition of line items that are the building blocks of every Compensation Plan. The pricing logic is part of the definition.
-
Create a Compensation Plan.
-
Configure and run calculation – for calculation of Compensation Records.
-
Review records and integrate with your ERP system.
