In the following articles Set up Currency Conversion in Datamart and ccy - Currency Conversion (Data Source) you describe how to use currencies. Is there a possibility to create and deposit an "own" currency and select it from the currency drop down menu?

No, it is not possible. We support all of the ISO currencies which are hard coded in a config file.
