Pie Chart (Chart Type)

Pie chart displays how a single Measure is distributed across one or more hierarchical Group By dimensions, with each segment’s size representing the Measure value. It helps quickly compare the contribution of each category and sub-category to the overall total.

Chart Preview

On the right side of the New Portlet screen there is a Chart and Data Preview section where you can preview all the changes made when you click the Apply and Refresh.

Choose the value to display. Segment sizes are based on this value.

Inner Ring

Group your data by the main category (center of the chart). You can define specific color for each entry within the inner ring.

Display

Show Legend – shows or hides the chart legend that lists categories and their colors.
Show Total – shows or hides the total Measure value in the center of the pie chart.
Show Values on Data Points – shows or hides the numeric values directly on the chart data points.

Show Percentages

  • Off – does not display percentage values anywhere in the chart.

  • In Legend – shows percentage values only in the legend next to each category.

  • On the Chart – shows percentage values only on the chart segments or data points.

  • Both – shows percentage values both in the legend and on the chart segments or data points.

Additional Tooltip Values

Display values that aren not shown in the chart but are part of the data. By default, all values are included and will appear in the tooltip when hovering over the chart. You can remove any you do not want to show.
