The Pricefx Agents use Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools to help users prioritize agent actions based on product groups or customer segments. This capability allows you to focus on the most impactful business opportunities by analyzing detected items through different dimensional perspectives.
How Prioritization Works
The MCP tool retrieves product group and customer segment data, including impact measures and action analytics from agent-generated insights. When you interact with Pricefx Copilot, the system analyzes detected items and presents prioritized recommendations based on your specified criteria.
Product Group Prioritization
When prioritizing by product group, the system:
-
Analyzes detected items across different product categories.
-
Calculates impact measures for each product group.
-
Ranks groups by potential business value.
-
Presents actionable insights for the highest-impact segments.
Customer Segment Prioritization
When prioritizing by customer segment, the system:
-
Groups detected items by customer characteristics.
-
Evaluates impact measures across customer segments.
-
Identifies segments with the greatest opportunity potential.
-
Provides targeted recommendations for each segment.
Available Impact Measures
The MCP tool supports multiple impact measure selectors to help you prioritize actions:
-
Revenue – Focus on opportunities with the highest revenue potential.
-
Profit – Prioritize actions that maximize profit impact.
-
Costs – Identify cost reduction opportunities.
-
Trends – Highlight trending patterns in your data.
-
Benchmark – Compare performance against benchmarks.
-
Others – Additional custom impact measures.
Tool Inputs and Configuration
The MCP tool accepts several input parameters to customize prioritization:
-
agentId,agentUniqueName, agentLabel– Specify which agent's actions to prioritize. -
customerDimension, productDimension– Define the dimensional analysis perspective. -
maxRows– Control the number of results returned (Default: 10). -
impactMeasureSelector– Choose the impact measure type for prioritization.
The system uses case-insensitive and space-insensitive matching when looking up agent names to improve usability.
Data Sources and Permissions
The tool retrieves data from the Detected Items Datamart Table, which contains the results of agent analysis. Access to prioritization data depends on your user permissions.
-
You can only view actions assigned to you in the Actions.
-
If you lack permissions for a specific agent, the system displays an appropriate error message.
Integration with Copilot
You can interact with the prioritization tool through natural language prompts using the Pricefx Copilot. See the following example prompts.
Prioritize Data Agent11 by customer segment.
Help me prioritize actions for the margin leakage agent by product group.
Show me the top product groups for Agent X by revenue impact.
Tip
Be specific with agent names and dimensions to get the most accurate prioritization results.
Limitations and Considerations
-
Maximum row limit – The tool respects row limits to ensure performance.
-
Data availability – Results depend on the underlying agent having detected relevant items.
-
Permission-based access – You can only prioritize actions for agents you have permission to access.
